  • The transaction was closed for an amount of €20 million and marks Teset Capital’s entry into the environmental infrastructure sector.

  • The plant was awarded to Teset Capital following a rigorous auction process led by the court responsible for the insolvency proceedings.

Teset Capital, an independent private equity firm specialising in mid-market infrastructure investments in Europe, has acquired Sologas a waste and wastewater treatment and biomethane production plant. This transaction represents Teset Capital’s first project in the environmental infrastructure sector and adds to the projects the firm already manages in the energy and telecommunications sectors. The transaction was closed for €20 million following a rigorous auction process led by the court responsible for the insolvency proceedings.

Sologas, incorporated in 2011 and operational since 2015, is located in the municipality of As Somozas, A Coruña (Galicia). The company operates several production lines – a composting plant, a co-digestion plant, and a plant for the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste – through which it produces fertilisers, growing substrates, and water. Since 2024, it has also produced and marketed biomethane. In total, Sologas has a waste processing capacity of up to 220,000 tonnes per year, of which 99.5% is recovered, and a biomethane production capacity of 27.3 GWh/year. The company transforms this biomethane through an on-site liquefaction process into bioLNG (liquefied renewable natural gas), making it the only bioLNG plant in Spain.

Javier Zabala, Partner at Teset Capital, stated: “Sologas perfectly represents the type of asset we seek at Teset Capital: a solid, niche platform, fully operational and with clear potential for improvement and growth. Together with the current team, we aim to begin a new chapter focused on long-term value creation and development of the asset’s full potential.”

This acquisition strengthens Teset Capital’s strategic position as a fund manager capable of identifying high-potential assets where it can apply its active management philosophy, innovative outlook, and expertise. Since its foundation, Teset Capital has built a portfolio of assets in essential infrastructure companies, particularly in the energy and telecommunications sectors. Always with a long-term investment vision, focusing on assets that offer stable returns and transformative impact.
